This Red Cross Emergency Medical Responder course efficiently introduces students to the right procedures, assessments, and on-going care during the transportation of a patient to a health care center. It provides entry-level content and practices aimed to reduce pain, maintain the vital signs, and minimize the risk of injuries and illness at the mobilization of a person before healthcare center treatment.

EMR Bridge Course – 40 HRS
This Red Cross Emergency Medical Responder Bridging course is for students that are already certified with their Occupational Level 3 First Aid (OFA 3) or Red Cross First Responder (FR) Certificates. This one week course is interactive and learner centered which prepares participants and provides them with BC EMALB EMR Licensing eligibility. The course teaches and practice a systematic but flexible approach to patient assessment, advanced medical interventions, pharmacology, and clinical decision making in a professional emergency medical response environment.

Airway Management
This Red Cross Airway Management course is designed to give healthcare providers the knowledge and skills necessary to create a patient airway, the interventions to maintain it, and the equipment available to carry out these skills. This course is often taken in conjunction with the Basic Life Support and Oxygen Therapy courses, but can also be taken on it's own.

Oxygen TherapyA short certification course that gives healthcare providers the knowledge and skills to administer supplemental oxygen - often taken with BLS and AM.
This Red Cross Oxygen Therapy course is designed to arm healthcare providers with the knowledge and skills to correctly identify when it is necessary to administer supplemental oxygen. This course is often taken in combination with the Basic Life Support and Airway Management courses. |
